Getting Started with 1836 Construction Co.
What can I expect from start to finish?
Starting a remodel or custom home build is a big decision. At 1836 Construction Co., we believe the process should feel as good as the finished product. That means no surprises, no guessing games, and no wondering what happens next. Just clear communication, honest pricing, and a team that treats your home like it's their own.
Here is exactly what working with us looks like from the very first conversation to the final walkthrough.

What's the Process?
Step 1- Initial Consultation/ Ballpark Pricing
No charge. No pressure
Every project starts with a conversation. We sit down with you to learn about your goals, understand your vision, and get a clear picture of what you want to accomplish. By the end of this meeting we will have defined approximately 80% of your project scope and provided a preliminary budget range based on similar past projects. This consultation is completely free. We want to make sure we are the right fit for each other before either of us commits to anything.
Step 2- Project Design
Two paths. One goal. A fully defined project before construction begins.
If we are aligned on scope and budget, we move into the design phase. You choose the path that works best for you, both have associated cost that will be built into the budget:
Full Service Design -- Our team fully designs every aspect of your project including layouts, finishes, fixtures, and materials. We present the completed design package to you for review and approval. This service is billed separately if you choose not to move forward with construction, but is built into your overall project cost if you do.
Curated Vendor Selection -- You use our carefully curated list of trusted local vendors and suppliers. We guide you to each one and you make your selections directly with them. Either way, every single decision goes through our selections process where we document the specific product, the price, the location, and the installation method. Nothing is left to assumption.
Step 3- Scope of Work
and Pricing
Fixed price. Zero surprises
At the end of the design phase, you receive a detailed Scope of Work document that defines every aspect of your project. We then schedule a site visit with all key trade partners and subcontractors to verify field conditions and confirm final pricing. The result is a fixed project price,- not a vague estimate that changes halfway through your build.
Step 4-Contract
Official. Honest. Ready to build.
Once final pricing is complete you receive your final contract, approved scope of work, final pricing, and deposit requirements. Once signed and the deposit is received, your project officially begins.
Step 5- Construction
You will always know what is happening and when
Once construction begins you receive a detailed project schedule, weekly invoicing, and regular project updates. We hold ourselves to a high standard of scheduling accuracy. We believe you should never have to wonder what is happening with your home. Our team is always reachable and always accountable.
Step 6- Final Clean and Walkthrough
We don't hand over the keys until everything is right.
Before we consider a project complete, your home receives a professional clean so it is move-in ready from day one. Then a member of our team will personally walk through every inch of the finished project with you to make sure everything meets your expectations and ours. We are not done until you are completely satisfied.
